What size dish do I need to buy?
-
The size dish you need to purchase depends on the
satellite you are trying to obtain a satellite signal from and the
satellite footprint. It also depends on the amount of power the
satellite puts out. The lower the EIRP (measured in dBW) the
larger satellite dish you need to use.
What type of LNB can I use with your 76 cm or 90 cm offset
dish?
-
You can use any type of
LNB on our
satellite dishes as long as it has a 40mm or 1.6" round neck. You
can use any DSS Circular or FSS Linear Ku band LNB \ LNBF.
What is the difference between a Ku band satellite dish
and a C band Satellite dish?
Generally, the difference between the two
is that C band uses a Prime Focus, while Ku band uses offset. It
is possible to pick up Ku band on a C band dish, but picking up C band
on a Ku band dish. . It is possible to install a Ku band
LNBF on a C band dish to pickup signal from Ku band on the C band dish,
but in most cases, one can not use a Ku band dish to pick up C band
because of the size of the satellite dish. With that in mind, some
customers have reported the ability to pick up C band on high powered
satellites using our C or C/Ku band LNBF,
WSKU2C KIT, and
1.2
meter satellite dish antenna.
